47. Finding My Pink Again: Why I’m Bringing Pivot Ball Change Back
Welcome back to Pivot Ball Change. After a three-year break, this episode is a reintroduction to my podcast and an invitation to start fresh together. Whether you’re brand new here or you’ve been listening since the beginning, I’m sharing who I am, where this show came from, and why now felt like the right time to bring it back.
In this episode, I tell the origin story of Pivot Ball Change, including where the name comes from and how my background as a dancer, mom, and podcast editor shaped this space. I talk about the idea of “getting your pink back” as a mother and how that has looked for me during both of my postpartum seasons.
I also walk through the many pivots my business has taken over the past few years and share behind-the-scenes updates from Pivot Ball Change today. I talk about the podcasts my team and I are currently editing, my thoughts on solo episodes versus guest interviews, and where I’m at with the mental load of motherhood during the holidays. I also share the internal communication tool we use in our business, what I believe is the ideal podcast episode length, and how longer episodes can actually create less work for you when used strategically.
To wrap things up, I share a few personal favorites, including my very real postpartum jeans struggle and the pair I finally love, recipes we’ve been making lately, shows I’ve been binge-watching to fall asleep, and a podcast recommendation for anyone with a background in dance. This episode is part life update, part business insight, and part creative reset — and I’m so glad you’re here for it.
